Persona Dolls

Our Persona Dolls are 70 cm tall, made of cloth, are life-like and culturally authentic. They represent all children – boys and girls, slim or large, some with disabilities, and they have diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
They have realistic skin and eye colours, hairstyles and textures, and they are dressed and wear shoes. You can improvise and add props or clothes: for example, spectacles, a Muslim headscarf or a woolly hat in winter.

The Persona Dolls and their clothes are made by women in our rural income generation project based in Paarl in the Western Cape. This is a proudly South African project that develops skills and provides income in an area
of high poverty.

The order form describes the Doll’s heritage and gender to make ordering easier, but you create the unique persona for your Doll, you decide on the gender and cultural heritage you want your Doll to have.
